GAL GAON

GAL GAON

Gal Gaon (b. 1967, Tel Aviv) is an architect and designer whose practice is founded on the concept of "abstract nature": transforming organic forms into minimalistic sculptural compositions. A graduate of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Gaon approaches furniture design as architectural inquiry, creating custom tables, desks, benches, and consoles that exist at the intersection of fine art and functional design. His work engages natural materials (wood essences and stone varieties) selected for their inherent beauty and the infinite variation of their grains and patterns.

Gaon’s aesthetic revolves around controlled contrasts: oblong, organic shapes that echo celestial geometries are rendered in materials emphasizing stark juxtapositions: deep black against pale wood, opposing grain directions, divergent elements in delicate balance.
Crafted by local Israeli artisans, his pieces capture what he terms the "primal essence of form."
