EICHKORN
Felix Eichkorn and Ruben Rebmann, founders of Eichkorn, probe the metamorphoses of matter. In their German studio, they combine radical experimentation (steel brought to 30,000 degrees, brass left to rest for months in salt water, fossilized limestone sculpted by hand) with time-honored techniques. The outcome is a repertoire of unprecedented surfaces and patinas.
These take shape as tables with monolithic bases hollowed out like caverns, side tables where pollen glass converses with charred oak, or brass lamps with pared-down lines. Each piece bears the imprint of its making: tool marks, traces of polishing, rivulets of metal, deliberate roughness. This poetics of controlled accident appeals to those who seek noble materials shaped with uncompromising artistry.
