Born in Lima in 1977, Pier Stockholm develops a body of work grounded in a sustained inquiry into the systems that shape our understanding of the world. Trained in architecture before studying visual arts in São Paulo and later at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he seeks to unfold the logic of normative structures (geometric, chromatic, administrative, or industrial) through which our representations of reality are constructed. By subjecting these rational frameworks to shifts, errors, and interruptions, he exposes the fragility of the systems of thought that modernity once claimed to be universal.
